The Kaduna State Police command has assured residents of the state of water tight security measures during the period of the Easter celebrations.
A statement by the spokesman of the command, Aminu Lawan, said that against the backdrop of security challenges in the state and the forthcoming Easter celebrations, the command had deployed units of conventional operatives to strategic places for proper security coverage.
He also urged residents to be security conscious, and called on them to report suspicious movements to the Police for appropriate action.
Meanwhile, as part of the security measures to avert any attack by terrorists, the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) has devised a stop and search system on passengers and vehicles entering motor parks.
The state NURTW Branch Chairman, Usman Muhammed, said that the decision was aimed at safeguarding the lives and properties of commuters and those visiting the parks for one reason or the other.
