A Nigerian guitarist, Adekunle Ayodeji, says his coming into music was unexpected because he studied Accountancy in the university.

He said that after travelling around the world with popular musician, Labaja, he found out that he had special love for instrumentals especially Guitars.

Speaking on Channels Television’s Saturday Breakfast programme, Sunrise, Mr Ayodeji mentioned that there was no structure in the Nigerian Music Industry. “We don’t appreciate the days of jazz music, soul and the rest.  Every artist is a record artist instead of instrumental musicians,” he said.

Mr Ayodeji added that Nigeria was doing well in combating the issue of piracy, stating that most of the issues affecting musicians were mind-set  and accountability related.

Ayodeji who is now a South African based musician has played with the likes of Ebenezer Obey, Lagbaja, Gloria Ibru, Daddy Showkey, Daniel Wilson  amongst others.
