As part of efforts towards security sensitisation, the Deputy Inspector General of Police in charge of Logistics and Supply, Mr Emmanuel Udoji, has met various stakeholders in Kaduna  State, including community and religious leaders,  commercial drivers and youth groups among others. 

At the meeting held at the state Police Officers Mess, the police DIG, said the current security challenges in the country called for a synergy among all to nip the problems in the bud.

Mohammed-Abubakar He also called on members of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) in the state to provide security gadgets at their motor parks in order to forestall being attacked by terrorists.

The DIG announced plans by the force to recruit more men to complement the existing number in order to effectively tackle the security challenges facing the nation and urged the people of the state to be security conscious and cooperate with the Police and other security agencies to win the war against terrorism.

On their part, the stakeholders assured to cooperate with the Police and other security agencies in the fight against insecurity, but expressed fear of being victimised while giving information to law enforcement agencies.

Poverty and unemployment were identified by the stakeholders as being responsible for the high rate of crime in the country, a factor which they said if addressed by government, will go a long way to reduce the level of insecurity in the country.

While meeting with top police officers of the Kaduna command, the DIG  said the police cannot effectively fight crime without the collaboration of the public, and urged  the officers  to discover new approaches and strengthen the culture of professionalism, accountability and competency to tackle the security challenges facing the country.
