He said due to the public’s hunger for information on the happenings in Borno state, the federal government decided to create a synergy that will interact with the media and people so that adequate information will be given out.

Speaking on Channels Television’s Saturday breakfast programme, live from Abuja, Sunrise, Mr. Omeri mentioned that the National Information Crisis Management Centre, has put in place outlets for taking information to the people.

Mr. Omeri mentioned that the agency has been working with the telecommunications to provide adequate services, also with some government representatives, adding that a press briefing was held recently to pass  information, “most agencies were well represented”.

Mr. Omeri noted the slow pace of information given by the Borno government which he said was not helping the situation of the country, “information that was given out from Borno was being managed by the state (Borno) while Nigerians have put pressure on the government to know the truth”.

He said that the agency is doing their best in terms of passing adequate information to Nigerians as a whole.
