The Rivers State Commissioner for Information, Ibim Semenetari, on Monday stated that the presence of the State Governor, Rotimi Amaechi, in Kano state was to condole with the Kano State Governor on the death of the former Emir of Kano, Ado Bayero and had nothing to do with the emergence of the new Emir.
The Rivers State Governor, Rotimi Amaechi, was reportedly barred from leaving the Aminu Kano International Airport, Kano.
An eyewitness told Channels Television that the Governor “had to force his way out of the airport in Kano”.
The Federal Government, who grounded an aircraft belonging to the Rivers State Government, seized it again less than two weeks after its release.
No reason has been given for the act by the Federal Government.
