police logo22The Rivers State Police Command has held an interactive stakeholders meeting with business owners in public places in Port Harcourt, Rivers State to create awareness on key security.

This was in a move to avert any possible occurrence of insurgent attacks.

On the heels of recent bomb attacks and other security challenges in the country, the Rivers State Police brought together hoteliers, market associations and other business owners to create awareness of various security issues.

Some of the issues discussed were the importance of gathering and sharing of information in public security management and sensitization on bomb attack in public places.

The Commissioner of Police in the state, represented by his deputy, Alkali Shabba, said that operators of businesses in vulnerable places must be aware of ways of identifying potential attacks

Officer Commanding, Anti Bomb Squad, Rivers State, SP Taiwo Akingbeyi, also provided expert analysis of how some of the terror attacks could be carried out with information on how to identify possible attempt.

Some of the business owners and operators at the forum spoke with Channels Television and they said that in times of major security concerns in the country, it was important for them to ensure the lessons from the workshop are not lost.

There were also calls to all Nigerians to be more security conscious and report all suspicious movements to the security authorities.
