Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, Professor Attahiru Jega has advised Resident Electoral Commissioners to re-double their efforts in order to improve on the success recorded at the just concluded governorship election in Ekiti State.
This, according to the professor of Political Science, will serve as part of efforts to conduct free, fair and credible elections in 2015.
Speaking in Abuja at the second quarterly meeting of Resident Electoral Commissioners, Professor Jega assures Nigerians that the commission is committed to conducting credible elections at all times.
Professor Jega used the occasion to seek the support, cooperation and understanding of all Nigerians towards attaining the objective of conducting free, fair and credible elections that will be generally accepted by all.
Prof. Jega had promised on (Tuesday) that next August’s governorship election in Osun will be better.
He made the promise while speaking at the commission’s quarterly meeting with the 26 registered political parties in Abuja.
