Minister of Sports and Chairman of the National Sports Commision, (NSC), Dr. Tammy Danagogo has described as false the reported resignation of Super Eagles Coach, Stephen Keshi.
In a statement released by the commission, the minister said ” It is not true that Keshi has resigned. He told me that he never said so, that his contract only expired. I expect the NFF to the needful.”
According to the minister, Keshi should be treated with some respect by the football administrators, who should first discuss the matter of his contract with him before making it a press issue.
Meanwhile, Keshi has also refuted the story, stressing that he only told the players that the match against France may be his last with them as his contract had expired with the World Cup.
Keshi, who became the coach of the Super Eagles of Nigeria in 2011, led the team to win the 2013 African Cup of Nations in South Africa and also became the first African coach to lead an African side to the second round of the World Cup.
