ayoThe president of Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor on Wednesday met with the Islamic committee in Delta state alongside other members and leaders of the Christian society to discuss the current security issues that has plagued the country and the way forward.

Addressing the group at the Word of Life Bible Church,  Warri, the clergyman  pointed out that leaders should go beyond condemning Boko Haram but work together to fight against terrorism.

The members of the Islamic Committee in Delta, led by Mr Anwulu Tukur explained that the perpetrators of Boko Haram activities are following the wrong doctrine of Islam.

Pastor Oritsejafor also pointed out that just as the Muslim are accepted and received in Delta state, it is expected that they do likewise to the Christians amongst them in the north.

Members of the Islamic committee led by the Chief Iman of Asaba, Alhaji Habib Faruk, gave an account of their migration to Delta state and assured that Islam does not promote or support terrorism of any kind.

“It appears that the state of insecurity in this country has got to a stage where everyone, Christian or Muslim have to stand up and work together to bring a stop to this alien that has crept into this nation and is gradually stealing the peace and unity of the country” he said.
