Chibok-girls-BringBackOurGirlsThe ‘Bring Back Our Girls’ campaign group in Abuja has expressed concern over the security situation in Dambua where  residents have fled the community to Maiduguri, the capital of Borno State and Gombe State after an attack by the Boko Haram sect two weeks ago.

According to some members of the group, over 5,000 Dambua residents are currently seeking refuge in Maiduguri and neighbouring towns, as terrorist continue to unleash attacks on them.

The Bring Back Our Girls campaign group have consistently demanded for the release of the Chibok girls in April abducted by members of the Boko Haram terrorist group.

Three months on, members say there is no going back until the girls are rescued.

According to them, time has elapsed but that has not eroded their confidence in God and the in ability of the Nigerian Army to do the rescue work if they are truly determined to do so.

They have also raised alarm over eviction notice given to residents in Gambaru Local Government Area of Borno State which according to the group will expire midnight of Saturday, July 26.

Meanwhile, the group has urged citizens to pray for the government and parents of the abducted girls while keeping faith that the girls would be rescued alive.

It is now over three months since the Chibok girls were abducted in April 14 and for the group, 83 days of protest is just like yesterday.

In a meeting with the parents of the abducted girls, President Goodluck Jonathan reassured them that girls would be rescued soon and that the government would do everything possible to secure schools around the nation with more emphasises on the schools in the northeast where more attacks by the group had occurred.

The Coordinator of the National Information Centre, Mr Mike Omeri, few days ago, confirmed military claims that the location of the girls had been identified, but said he would not disclose when the girls would be rescued for security reasons.
