Kogi StateThe Kogi State Government has signed into law, the bill for the establishment of a Bureau for Public-Private Partnership.

Capt Idris Wada, who performed the ceremony at the banquet hall of Government House in Lokoja, said that the law stands to give strong backing to investors interested in exploring the resources that abound in the state.

In his speech after the signing of the law, Wada revealed that several Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) had been signed with foreign and local investors which were dependent on the establishment of the new law for them to fully take off.

He, therefore, expressed confidence that the new trend would take the state to its next level of industrialization.

In his address, the Kogi State Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Yabagi Bologi, while thanking Governor Wada for the bold step taken, explained that the law would serve as a guide for the board and also for investors as they take decisions in partnering with the state.

The passage of the bill into law, some experts have said, would lay a solid foundation for investors to commence business activities in the state.

The state since its creation has signed several Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) which has not seen the light of the day, because there has never been any law which allows for Public-Private Partnership (PPP).
