Ebola

EbolaThe Kaduna State Government has directed primary and secondary schools in the state to screen all their pupils and students as a condition for allowing them to resume for classes on October 13.

This is part of the State Government’s strategy for curbing the spread of the Ebola virus in the state.

The State Commissioner for Education, Ibrahim Ali, in a statement, told head teachers of private and public schools in Kaduna that Government would distribute the necessary medical equipment to the schools before the resumption date to enable them carry out tests on the pupils and students.

According to him, two testing machines would be given to each school with a population of 500 and below while schools with a population of up to 1,000 students would receive four each.

Ali also spoke about the issue of school fees in the state. He warned private schools in particular to desist from arbitrary increase of fees and also warned school proprietors to stop using their personal bank accounts for the deposit of school fees.
