Ebola Virus Disease can be contained and that needs the collaboration of everyone, the World Health Organization (WHO), said on Wednesday.

In a briefing with journalists at the Rivers State Ministry of Health secretariat in Port Harcourt, the WHO country representative, Mr Rui Vaz, said that WHO was bringing to bear in the fight against the disease the expert training, assistance and logistical support to achieve containment and to ensure control in the Port Harcourt entry into the state.

The WHO representative called on the media to give a clear message in their reporting on the disease to avoid creating panic among the people.

When the team from the world health body visited the state Governor, Chibuike Amaechi, in Government House, he also stressed emphasised the need for the press to report from a well informed positions, especially on figures presented to the public.

The Rivers State Governor assured the WHo officials of declared of the government’s willingness to drive the process and provide all support including funding to achieve stamping out the Ebola Virus disease from the state.
