police 2The Anambra State  Government has demolished two buildings in Ayamelum Local Government Area of the state belonging to kidnap suspects.

A three bedroom bungalow, belonging to  a kidnap suspect, Ejike Chetauya, who hails from Nteje Village has been reduced to rubbles at Ifite-Ogwari, while a six bedroom bungalow at Omor,  built by Benjamin Nwabunwanne, alias Abuja, over four years ago for the alleged purpose of incarcerating kidnap victims was also demolished.

Anambra State Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Uche Ezeh, said the police will continue to collaborate with the state government in the fight against criminal elements until the desired result is achieved.

Mr. Ezeh explained that one of the suspects, Benjamin Nwabunwanne, had engaged in several kidnap activities and used the building to incarcerate his victims while negotiating for ransom.  Members of the community bared their minds too that the suspect’s means of livelihood was not known despite having built the house for over four years.

The Special Adviser to the governor on Security, Mr. Chikodi Anara, said the Willie Obiano administration would continue to be committed to crime fighting and ensure that no one benefits from crime.

Mr. Anara stated that not only that the buildings were demolished, the state government has equally revoked the certificate of occupancy of the land and advised youths to engage in legitimate means of livelihood as government and the security agencies in the state would not relent in the war against criminals.
