The assertion was made by Mr Henry Onowe, Assistant Director, Physiotherapy Department, Jos University Teaching Hospital (JUTH) during the 2014 world physical therapy day organised by the Nigeria society of physiotherapy, Plateau State.
In his lecture at the occasion, titled “fit to take part or perform”, Dr. Onowe said lifestyle of most cancer patients can be modified with exercise.
The Plateau State Chairman, Nigeria society of physiotherapy, Dr. Samuel Adedayo, said the contribution of physiotherapist to individual and nation was immense and appealed to politicians and policy makers to play a key part in helping the profession.
Another speaker at the event, Dr. Madaki Aboi, Head of Department, family medicine, Jos University Teaching Hospital, believed every worker needs exercise.
