WadaAs part of the reform programme of the Federal Government in providing housing to its citizenry nationwide, Kogi State Governor, Capt. Idris Wada, has inaugurated a seven-man state technical group on the Federal Ministry of Finance housing project.

Wada said that the goal of his administration was to compliment the Federal Government’s effort at meeting the shortfall in its housing needs, which he said could require about 17 million houses in the next decade.

The executive chamber of the Government House Lokoja, played host to the state executive members, and members of the seven-man technical working body, saddled with the responsibility of refocusing the state in straightening out the process for better understanding of the people.

While inaugurating the seven-man committee, the State Governor listed some of the terms of reference of the committee, adding that there were major tasks ahead of them.

He urged them to focus on the assignment by putting in their time and effort so that the state can be one of the first beneficiaries of the housing scheme.

The Chairman of the Committee, Mr Joseph Daniel, thanked the Governor for initiating and keying into the programme which he noted would provide affordable house, stimulate construction, create jobs and assist in unleashing the potentials of the state.
