Boko Haram

Boko HaramThe Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) has called on President Goodluck Jonathan to order the probe of former Governor of Borno State, Senator Ali Modu Sheriff, and immediate past Chief of Army Staff, Lt-General Azubuike Ihejirika, over their alleged sponsorship of Boko Haram insurgency in the country.

In a statement issued on Thursday by its National Publicity Secretary, Mr Ibrahim Mohammed, in Kaduna, the forum also called for the immediate halt to the brazen seizure of Nigerian territories from the Boko Haram sect.

It demanded that the insurgents be confronted decisively.

While demanding that the President should inaugurate a panel to probe the allegations levelled by the Australian negotiator, Stephen Davis, against Senator Ali Modu Sheriff, Lt-Gen Azubuike Ihejirika and others, ACF also urged President Jonathan to implement the recommendations of all the committees and panels set up by his government without further delay.

Lamenting the incidence of bloodshed and terror attacks in the country, especially in the North-East, the forum blamed the Federal Government for not taking serious measures to tackle insurgencies in the country.

On attempts by the Federal Government to rescue the abducted Chibok girls in Borno State, the forum also berated the Government for not taking serious measures to ensure the rescue of the girls.
