The Ogun State Government, South West Nigeria has announced Wednesday, October 8 as the resumption date for public and private primary and secondary schools across the state.
The Secretary to the State Government, Mr Taiwo Adeoluwa, gave the hint while briefing reporters at a press briefing held in Abeokuta, the state capital.
At another briefing before this pronouncement by the State Government, the leadership of the state chapter of the Nigerian Union of Teachers, NUT, had vowed to go on industrial strike if adequate preventive measures were not put in place to ensure the health and safety of teachers and students against the dreaded Ebola virus disease.
Meanwhile, the State Government said that it was putting in place a dedicated team to go round the schools to ensure basic preventive measures are in place at both public and private schools before the resumption date announced.
