Goodness_UdehThe Edo State Police Command is hunting for a 53-year-old man, Michael Okizea, who allegedly killed two children, leaving two others with severe injuries in Ikpoba-okha Local Government Area of Edo State in south-south Nigeria.

Mr Okizea was said to have attacked the children of his neighbour, Mr Oliver Udeh, with a machete while they were playing in their house on September 17.

The father of the children said that he was at work when he got a call that Mr Okizea, from Bende local government in Abia State, had killed his children.

“He killed my children. He killed the nine months old and the three years old. Cut the hand of the other and the nose of another. The others had to escape from the window if not he would have killed them,” he said.Michael Okizea.

His wife explained that the man had earlier complained that the children, who were playing outside the compound, were disturbing him.

“He chased the children earlier in the day and had asked them not to come to his part of the compound and that he has demarcated the place with a wheelbarrow.

“I went back to the kitchen and after a while someone came to me and said that Mr Michael has killed my children,” she said.

The parents of the children say the incident had left them helpless but want government to ensure that justice is done.

The Commissioner of Police in the State, Folusho Adebanjo, said that the police have started investigation into the incident and is doing everything to arrest the man he described as; “not a human being”.
