The Niger State Police Command have advised members of the public to maintain law and order during the forthcoming Independence Day holiday and the Eid-El-Kabir Sallah celebration.
In a statement made available to Channels Television in Minna, the Niger State Police Public Relation Officer, Ibrahim Gambari, warned the youths to be law abiding and eschew any form of criminal behaviour and to bear in mind that the Command would not tolerate any act that may cause disorder before, during and after the festive period.
The Police spokesman also appealed to parents to pay special attention to their wards to avoid being involved in anti-social behaviours or being used by criminal elements to commit crime.
“In the light of the above, any person or group of persons who attempt to cause any breach of peace across the state will face the full wrath of the law” the statement concluded.
