Nigeria PoliceThe Police in Nigeria say there will be no hiding place for criminals who intend to perpetrate evil in Akwa Ibom, Calabar, Ebonyi and Rivers States in the south, as they are now better armed to confront criminals head long.

The new Assistant Inspector General of Police, AIG Zone 6, Mark Idakwo, gave the warning to criminals at the commands headquarters in Calabar, the Cross River State Capital in a brief with journalists on Friday.

Bitter Pills To Swallow

According to the AIG, who was one time an officer in charge of Anti Robbery Squad at the federal level, “fighting crime and bringing perpetrators to book is a major obligation that must fulfil while in office”.

Enumerating the achievements of the command since he took charge, he disclosed that, criminals across the four states under his division had all had bitter pills to swallow.

This, according to the AIG will serve as a deterrent to others with criminal intentions.

One major crime that the police will have to tackle in the south-south is that of kidnapping, which has become a major money making venture for some unemployed youths in the region.
