Angelina Jolie Says ‘Open’ To Politics

Multiple award winning actress, Angelina Jolie is “likely” to pursue a career in politics, diplomacy or public service, she told popular Vanity Fair magazine.

Jolie, who has also started directing movies, including Maleficent – a re-make of the popular Sleeping Beauty story – has her hands full with six children, charity projects across the globe and a role as special envoy to the U.N. High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).

Recently, Britain’s Queen Elizabeth made Jolie an honorary Dame at a private ceremony at Buckingham Palace, in recognition of her campaigning to end sexual violence in war zones and for services to UK foreign policy.

However, the actress says although she’s still unsure of what position she is likely to run, she intends on changing the face of politics.

In her interview with Vanity Fair, the actress spoke passionately about “Unbroken” – a movie about Olympic runner, World War Two airman and prisoner of war Louis Zamperini, which is set to debut on Dec. 25 2014.

She told the magazine about her friendship with Zamperini, who she showed an early cut of the movie before he died in July at the age of 97 after a 40-day bout of pneumonia.

“It was an extremely moving experience,” Jolie said, “to watch someone watching their own life.”

Zamperini spent 47 days in a life raft after his plane crashed into the Pacific and two years as a prisoner of war under the Japanese.

On being married to fellow actor Brad Pitt, Jolie said “it does feel different,” she said. “It feels nice.”

Jolie and Pitt had a low-key surprise August wedding at their French estate Chateau Miraval and according to the mother of six, their children wrote the marriage vows.
