CriminalsThe Delta State Police Command on Saturday paraded some criminals that snatched over seven vehicles and kidnapped a seven month old baby.

Over 12 persons were paraded alongside the ammunition recovered from them.

Before parading the suspects, the State Commissioner of Police, Alkali Baba Usman, had a briefing with journalists at the Police Headquarters in Asaba, the state capital.

Reading out the achievements so far in recovering some of the stolen vehicles, he narrated how the suspects were tracked up and arrested.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Cestina Agu, who took journalists round, pointed out the recovered vehicles.

Standing by one of the vehicles, a Toyota Camry, was the owner, Barr Festus Idomo, who recounted his experience with the suspected robbers and how he was saved by the Police.

While some of the suspected criminals denied the allegation, claiming that they were innocent, some others owned up that they actually did it.

However, for the suspected kidnappers, one of them was reportedly killed after being gunned down by the Police in a gun duel. Investigation is ongoing on the others that escaped.

Items recovered include seven cars, ammunition, live cartridges, handsets, generators, some charms and spears.
