OkorochaThe Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha, has decried the rate at which Nigerian youths indulge in cyber crime, internet fraud and social media abuse, which in turn has impacted negatively on the image of the country.

Governor Rochas Okorocha, who was represented by his Deputy, Eze Madumere, stated this while addressing the Batch C Corps Members at the closing ceremony of their 3-week orientation exercise at the Orientation Camp in Umudi, Nkwerre Local Government of Imo State.

He said rather than taking the advantages inherent in the Internet and Social media in terms of research, information gathering, job opportunities and self development, youths have continued to use the social media platforms and the internet to propagate wrong information, fraud, mischief and crime.

He advised the Batch C Corp Members to desist from such acts and use these platforms as an effective tool to disseminate useful information, promote peace and unity in the Nation, sustainable development as well as good virtues of the Nation.

Mr Madumere however urged the corp members to be good ambassadors of homes and also exhibit good characters that would project them as good citizens of the country in the course of their one year mandatory service to their fatherland in Imo State
