PinnickThe Chairman of the Nigeria Football Federation Elections Appeals Committee, Okechukwu Ajunwa, has announced the nullification of the election of NFF President, Amaju Pinnick.

Addressing a press conference in Abuja on Friday, the Appeals Committee chairman, Okechukwu Ajunwa said the election of Mr Pinnick was faulty and therefore nullified.

Mr Ajunwa also nullified the election of the federation’s Vice President, Seyi Akinwumi, Felix Anyansi-Agwu, representing south-east and Rabiu Inuwa, representing north-west.

The committee has, consequently, ordered that fresh elections be conducted within seven days to replace those whose elections have been nullified.

Mr Pinnick and Akinwumi, who were elected as President and Vice President of the federation on September 30 in Warri, Delta State have also been directed to stop parading themselves as NFF President and Vice President respectively.

After the nullification of Pinnick’s election, the NFF said that other Appeals Committee members referred to Mr Ajunwa’s claim as ‘rubbish’.

A statement issued by the spokesperson for NFF, Ademola Olajire, said members of the NFF 2014 electoral committee had dismissed the report presented to some journalists by Mr Ajunwa, as a mere minority report that was of no consequence and therefore null and void.
