OgunThe Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) says it is hopeful of achieving between 80 and 90% distribution of the Permanent Voter Cards nationwide before the 2015 general elections.

The spokesman for the INEC chairman, Mr Kayode Idowu, who was a guest on Channels Television’s programme, Politics Today, on Sunday emphasised that there would be no voting for anyone without the Permanent Voters Card (PVC).

“We have been distributing at the local government offices of the commission since we rounded up the polling unit level distribution.

“The expectation of the commission is that before election, between 80 and 90 per cent of the PVCs will be collected.

“We hope that will happen and we have been urging that people whose PVCs are waiting at the local government offices of the commission should go there and collect their cards,” he said.

Mr Idowu further said that the collection rate was about 65 per cent across the country.
