NSCDCMen of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) have foiled an attempt to vandalize petroleum pipeline by vandals in Otte in Kwara State.

Briefing newsmen on the effort of his command, the State Commandant of the Corps, Obiekwe Augustine, noted that the anti vandal unit busted the attempt to vandalize petroleum pipeline on January 3.

According to Obiekwe, the two vehicles used by the vandals were seen approaching the pipeline and the occupants opened fire on the NSCDC men and officers.

However, they were overpowered by the superior firepower of the Civil Defence Corp.

The two Nissan buses with registration numbers Oyo AME-60-XA and Lagos DB-732-FST were filled with 240 jerrycans meant for siphoning of fuel.
