president-jonathanThe Peoples Democratic Party campaign train headed for the Nigeria’s north-west region with President Goodluck Jonathan campaigning in Sokoto and Kebbi states on Monday.

At the palace of Emir of Gwandu, HRH Ilyasu Bashars in Birnin Kebbi, Dr Jonathan said he was committed to working with traditional rulers to provide democracy dividend and create enabling environment for the people to grow wealth, promising that Kebbi is at the heart of his administration’s activities.

The campaigns at the Kebbi State capital, Birnin Kebbi, featured talks on the achievements of President Jonathan so far and the need for the people of the north-west to vote him back into power come February 14.

President Jonathan asked for their votes, promising that the rice revolution in Kebbi State will be stepped up to stop rice importation in Nigeria.

According to him, whatever is due to Kebbi state will be given to them, pointing at the provision of Federal University in the state to enable everyone to get good education, describing it as the first of its kind in the state.

He also said he would work with the governorship candidate, Bello Sarkin Yaki, to make sure that the people of Kebbi state enjoyed the great changes that would come into the state when voted back into power.
