Oladimeji_Fabiyi_Election_ViolenceThe President of Turaki Vanguard and a member of the All Progressives Congress, Mr Oladimeji Fabiyi, says Nigeria’s future depends on the peoples ability to elect the right leader that will help change the peoples orientation.

He suggested that Nigerians should elect a disciplined leader that could change the focus of Nigerians and establish a fresh air of a working system.

He told Channels Television on Monday that a peace accord that was signed by the presidential candidates of political parties would not translate to a violence-free process, describing the process as laughable and a mirage.

“The peace accord signing was laughable. Buhari will be in his voting in Katsina and when there is violence in the state capital, will Buhari be there to tell them to stop?,” Politicians cautions are no longer effective because the people do not believe in them any longer.

“How many politicians have the interest of Nigerians at heart?” he questioned.

Mr Fabiyi said that “Nigeria’s political activities is about selfish interest,” emphasising that it had not done Nigerians any good.

“Politicians are holding the key to the system and they have not brought a better deal for Nigerians.

“It is unfortunate we are where we are now.

“There should not have been tension at this point in time,” he said, urging Nigerian leaders to eschew selfishness, which he said had brought the nation to where it was.

According to him, such commitment to good governance would bridge the disconnection between the led and the leaders.

Mr Fabiyi said that the high rate of poverty in the nation had also contributed to why people take to violence to please politicians who give them money, requesting that they carry out some acts of violence.
