Police OfficersA new Commissioner of Police has assumed office at the state police headquarters Eleweran in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital in south-west Nigeria.

The Commissioner of Police, Valentine Ntomchukwu, is replacing Mr Ikemefuna Okoye, who is now Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of Zone Eleven.

After an inspection of a guard of honour, the new Commissioner assured residents of adequate security of lives and property and violence free general elections

While asking men and officers to always maintain a high level of discipline and integrity, Mr Ntomchukwu solicited the support of residents of the state in the task of ensuring effective policing of the state

Speaking on the coming general elections, the Commissioner assured the residents of violence free polls, as he sought collaboration with sister security agencies in the state to achieve this

He, however, warned criminals in the state to have a rethink of their action as the command was more than ever ready to maintain law and order for a habitable society.
