Rivers State Records 85 Per Cent PVC Distribution

The Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) in Rivers State, Gesila Khan, says the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has recorded 85 per cent Permanent Voter Card (PVC) distribution in the state.

Mrs Gesila gave the PVC distribution update when she visited Governor Chibuike Amaechi at the Rivers State Government House in Port Harcourt.

She also spoke on the readiness of the electoral body for the elections, saying all strategies had been put in place.

The visit of the REC and officials of the commission in Rivers State to the Governor was part of the commission’s move to wrap-up the preparation for the elections.

Governor Amaechi told his the commission officials that Nigerians were looking up to the INEC to prove a point in the conduct of the elections.

Responding to the governor’s comment, the REC said the commission would stop at nothing, to ensure that elections in the state would be credible.
