Chief-Willie-Obiano-JudgesAnambra State Governor, Willie Obiano, has sworn in eight new judges making it twenty six judges in the state, which has enabled the dispensation of justice in Anambra State to take a speedy dimension.

At the swearing in ceremony of the judges at the Executive Chamber of the Government House, Awka, the state capital, while the judges pledge commitment to duty, the Governor charged them to discharge their duties, especially accelerating speedy trials of kidnap and armed robbery cases in the state.

He announced that the eight judges would be moving into a new state of the art quarters which cost the state 400 million naira to build, adding that they are all part of efforts toward ensuring the welfare of judges for speedy dispensation of justice without fear or favour.

He assured them that his administration is committed to providing necessary facilities that will ensure the efficiency of judges in the state in dispensing justice.

Governor Obiano pointed that his government had commenced construction of three new High Courts and fourteen Magistrate Courts in the state, to accelerate speedy justice delivery by courts.

The newly sworn in judges through one of them expressed appreciation to the Governor for his assistance which made it possible for them to be appointed, pledging total commitment to their sworn duties.

The swearing of the Judges was part of the post celebration of Governor Willie Obiano’s first anniversary having been sworn in on March 17 last year.
