Chibok-girls-protestThe Bring Back Our Girls (BBOG) group has intensified their crusade on the release of the over 200 Chibok girls abducted by the terrorist group, Boko Haram last year April.

The campaigners calling for the girls’ release held a one day event at the Unity Fountain in Abuja, Nigeria’s Federal Capital Territory (FCT) on Tuesday, to mark 365 days of their absence.

Channels TV correspondent, Gloria Ume-Ezeoke, reports that the campaigners said they have not lost hope of the girls’ return and will not relent until they are rescued.

The parents of the chibok girls however, are still in anguish and continue to hope that their daughters would be rescued.

Ume-Ezeoke also adds that life has been hard for people residing in one of the villages in Kuje Area Council in Abuja, where some of the families are camped.

It has been one year since the abduction of over 200 school girls from Chibok in Borno State, but the call for their return has not reduced.
