rec-Ebonyi-APCKogi State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Hon Hassan Salau, has accused the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) of succumbing to the antics of the opposition, All Progressives Congress (APC).

Addressing reporters in Lokoja, the Kogi State capital, Honourable Salau decried that INEC had denied his party some legislative seats it won in the just concluded State Assembly poll.

On the other hand, the State APC Chairman, Comrade Haddy Ametuo, briefed media in Ayingba on the alteration iof the PDP against INEC on the House of Assembly election in the state, insisting that the APC won 10 Local Government Areas (LGAs).

An APC member elected into the House of Representatives, Honourable Benjamin Ikani, also accused the PDP leaders of election malpractices which include; stuffing of ballot boxes with ballots papers thumb printed in their homes, private schools and the university guest house.

They also accused the PDP of using thugs of the party to cause mayhem and disrupted elections in some parts of the state.

The PDP had also denied these claims.

On April 11, when the House of Assembly election was held, there were reports of violence in Kogi State, which marred election process in some local councils.

Ballot boxes were stolen in some places and broken in other places, while the card reader was taken away by an unknown person, alleging that the ballot papers were fake.

It, however, took the timely intervention of the state Commissioner of Police, Samuel Ogunjemilusi, for peace to return to the local councils.
