xenophobic attacksSenate Leader, Victor Ndoma-Egba, has condemned in strong terms the xenophobic attacks on immigrants in South Africa, which Nigerians are among the victims.

According to him, this will be one of the major issues to be discussed at the Senate upon resumption tomorrow, Tuesday following the plights victims of the attacks are being subjected to.

The Senator representing the Cross River State Central Senatorial district bared his thoughts on the attacks while briefing newsmen in Calabar, the state capital.

According to the Senator, the root cause of the xenophobic attacks could be likened to the fact that the ordinary man in the society is ignorant of the foreign policy contributions to his own country.

He stressed the need for such contributions to be made public for generations yet unborn to know and appreciate the efforts of other countries towards its freedom.

The xenophobic attacks in South Africa KwaZulu-Natal province have continued, despite worldwide outrage and efforts by the country’s leaders to calm the situation.
