Amnesty ProgrammeA group of Niger Delta ex-militants, who are beneficiaries of the Amnesty Programme at the Bradama Training Center, are protesting over unpaid training allowances and non issuance of certificates at the completion of their training.

The group, armed with placards and banners, say the Federal Government Amnesty Office has breached the terms of contract it had with them.

They have stopped the free flow of traffic at the DSC Roundabout in Warri, Delta State.

They have also given the government one week to meet their demands and failure to do so would result in the total shutdown of oil operations in the Niger Delta region.

About 300 delegates of the Amnesty Programme were posted to two training centres on August 28, 2013 to learn Pipeline Welding and Fabrication.

Bradama, located in Agadagba-Obon in Ese Odo Local Government Area of Ondo State, has trained skilled welders under the Federal Government-sponsored training programmes for ex-militants as part of the Amnesty Programme.
