Table Tennis: NSC Assures Players Of Development Plan

table tennisThe Acting Director-General of the National Sports Commission (NSC), Mr Alhassan Yakmut, has assured lovers and players of Table Tennis in Nigeria that the Commission will contribute its quota to the development of the game by partnering with the Aso Table Tennis Club to groom future international champions.

Speaking in Abuja at the closing ceremony of the 11th Aso National Table Tennis Championship won by Ojo Onaolapo of Lagos State, Mr Yakmut expressed optimism that the new partnership would produce a bigger championship come 2016.

Chairman of the Aso Table Tennis Club, Dr Olusegun Ajuwon, commended the players who participated in the 2015 edition of the Championship, saying the quality of games has improved tremendously.

Ojo Onaolapo, in a keenly contested final match emerged the Men’s Champion, beating Segun Ajetumobi of Taraba State by four games to three, while Bose Odusanya of Lagos State dethroned the Defending Champion, Eitoro Akpan of Cross River State to emerge the Women’s Champion.
