The Joint Task Force, operation Pulo Shield in Bayelsa State have arrested four suspected sea pirates at Mibirki and Nembe communities in Bayelsa state.
The coordinator, Joint Media Campaign Centre, Lieutenant Colonel Isa Ado while briefing journalist in Yenagoa says the suspects before their arrest were responsible for all the attacks and sea robbery activities on the Mbiriki and Nembe1 waterways of the state.
According to him, they take advantage of the difficult terrain and maneuver in the creek to unleash attack on their victims.
The Joint Task Force says it hopes this arrest will make the waterways safe and conducive for voyage and other economic activities in the region.
They also appealed to Bayelsans to assist the commander’s zero tolerance campaign against illegalities by giving useful information to enable the task force track miscreants in the Niger Delta.
