NLCAll is not well between the Osun State Government and the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) in the state, as the Labour Union declares an indefinite strike to press home its demands.

The workers are demanding for the payment of their six months salaries and allowances that the government owed them.

They have also raised concerns over the non -payment of pension, remittance of their Check Off Dues and non-release of promotion letters since 2013 among others.

According to the union leaders, the resolve to down tools was made after the expiration of the 14 days ultimatum given to the State Government, to meet their demands of non.

Addressing reporters on Monday in Osogbo, the Osun State capital, the NLC State Chairman, Jacob Adekomi, said the strike action was declared after 18 out of the 28 industrial unions in the state signed in agreement to down tools.

Mr Adekomi also highlighted the demands of the unions and called for the swift intervention of the State Government in resolving the disputes he described as “a looming crisis”.

He vowed to pursue their demands to a logical conclusion and directed workers to stay off their duty posts until their demands were met by the State Government.
