governor wadaKogi State Governor, Captain Idris Wada, has pledged a five million Naira reward for any resident of the state, who would volunteer credible information that would lead to the arrest of kidnappers by the Police in the state.

The Governor, who made the pledge in Lokoja, Kogi State capital, during a working visit to the state Police headquarters, also said kidnapping was a new wave of crime in the state and should be fought with all seriousness by all residents.

On visiting the command, Governor Wada was received by the Commissioner of Police, Adeyemi Ogunjemilusi and other Senior Police Officers, after which he inspected a guard of honour and was later taken round some ongoing projects of the command.

Captain Wada commended Mr Ogunjemilusi for carrying out a laudable renovation of the command, also reiterating his government’s commitment to assisting the Police in working effectively.

The Governor commended the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Solomon Arase, for giving out 31 Hilux Van and deployment of 350 policemen, including 25 police officers and 40 specialist to Kogi Command.

Mr Ogunjemilusi said: “In spite of the limited resources and the mega salary of the Police, the state command is resolute to protect the lives and property of the people”.

The Governor, who also took time to address the field Police Officers, thanked them for a job well done, and urged them to intensify efforts in the cause of their duties.

Wada later made cash donation and promised to renovate the police barracks and the A Division office in the state.
