Ogun Police Warns Personnel Against Extra Judicial KillingThe Ogun State Police Command has warned men and officers of the Nigeria Police Force in the state against extra-judicial killings.

The order is coming just as the Command cautioned on the use of firearms in the discharge of constitutional duty of providing adequate security for the people of Ogun State, south-west Nigeria.

The State Commissioner of Police, Mr Valentine Ntomchukwu, made the statement at the Ogun State Police Headquarters in Abeokuta on Thursday.

In another development, Mr Ntomchukwu paraded 14 suspected cultists, six kidnappers and four members of an armed robbery gang arrested while perpetrating their nefarious activities in different locations in the state.

A 41 year old man and a commercial driver, who kidnapped a 97 year old man for a ransom of two million Naira, were among the paraded suspects.

Items recovered from the suspects include an ash colour Toyota Highlander, guns, assorted charms amongst other items.

However, the Police Commissioner solicited quality information from the residents in order to nib crime in the bud, assuring them of the utmost readiness of the police to provide adequate security of lives and property.
