The Governor of Ebonyi State, Dave Umahi, has described the leadership style of Nigeria’s President, Muhammadu Buhari, in rebuilding the nation’s economy as serious and focused.
Governor Umahi pointed out that President Buhari had so far taken remarkable steps to revamp the nation’s economic development, with attention given to the energy sector.
The Ebonyi State Governor made the acclamation in a meeting with a former President, Olusegun Obasanjo, on Sunday at his residence in Abeokuta, the Ogun State’s capital in south-west Nigeria. The visit was his first to the former President since he assumed office.
He also acknowledged the former President’s leadership role in the nation’s socio-economic and political development and in Africa.
However, Governor Umahi condemned the proposed idea of harbouring Boko Haram suspects in some prisons in Nigeria’s South-eastern region by the Federal Government.
He asserted that strategies had been put in place to develop conducive business environment for investors and agricultural sector in Ebonyi State.
The Governor further assured the people of Ebonyi State of better days ahead, emphasising that his administration had begun audit of the state workforce to ensure sanity in the system.
