DasukiThe PDP National Publicity Secretary, Olisah Metuh, says the siege on former National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki’s residence is undemocratic and unconstitutional.

Reports emerged that the operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) had stormed the house on Thursday evening and they had on Friday maintained a siege on the Abuja residence of the immediate past National Security Adviser.

As at Friday afternoon, visitors were not allowed into the premises as cars that attempted to gain entrance were turned back.

One of such visitors was the National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Mr Olisa Metuh.

He said that the operatives told him the place was under security watch.

He described the siege as unconstitutional and urged the relevant authorities to respect the rule of law and democratic principles.

Later on the same day, after more than 24 hours of siege, the Federal Government ordered the withdrawal of operatives of the Department of State Services from the Abuja home of Colonel Dasuki.

The withdrawal was effected only after they seized his International Passports and other vital documents.

On Monday, July 13, President Muhammadu Buhari sacked retired Colonel Dasuki as his National Security Adviser.

He was replaced by retired Major General Babagana Monguno.
