The meeting started few hours after President Buhari arrived in Washington DC and was received at the airport by some Nigeria and U.S. officials.
Talks between both leaders will centre on how to tackle terrorism and insecurity in Nigeria’s north-east among other issues.
The meeting between President Buhari and government officials was held at the Blair House overlooking the White House, where the Nigerian President would he hosted all through his four-day visit.
Also at the meeting was the Nigerian Ambassador to the United States, Professor Ade Adefuyi, who told reporters that the meeting would further strengthen ties between the two nations.
