osunThe Osun Stakeholders Summit was held in Ile-Ife, Osun State south-west Nigeria on Saturday.

The submit was held to share ideas on how to improve the current financial downturn in the country.

Speakers at the Summit all agreed that in spite of the financial crisis of the nation, governors can create corridors of prosperity with the resources at their disposal.

They were of the view that the economy could be enhanced if the nation’s constitution is restructured to allow the states to go under their soil and generate wealth with the resources instead of dependence on federal allocation.

The summit also agreed that the culture of integrity, accountability and transparency must be given its rightful position ‎if frivolity in governance is to be curbed.

The speakers also said that the government needs to accord the civil service its rights rather than use consultants to carry out what they term as “shady deals” to cover tracks of misappropriation and fraud.
