SenateA Federal High Court in Abuja is set to decide if it would grant an interim injunction filed by Senator Kabir Marafa seeking to restrict the Senate President from appointing any standing committees of the Senate.

In the suit filed before Justice Gabriel Kolawole, Senator Marafa claims that if the Senate leadership is allowed to go ahead and name the standing committees, those that opposed his election would suffer injustice.

Senator Marafa claimed that the leadership of the upper chamber of the National Assembly would favour their friends in the appointment of the chairmen of the Senate standing committees.

He also joined the Deputy Senate President, the Speaker of the House of Representatives and Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives in the suit.
