george ekeA member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), says that without doubt, the All Progressives Congress (APC) is overwhelmed with governance and they don’t know where to start from.

Speaking on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily on Tuesday, Mr George Eke said the document about the 100 days of President Mohammadu Buhari belongs to the APC.

“Let’s stop making the document controversial because the document is all over the place and the document belongs to the APC.

“Come to think of it, the document was signed by President Buhari and he related his experience in his campaign tours.

“There are two documents, one talks about his covenant with the Nigerian people while the other talks about 100 things President Buhari will do in 100 days”, he said.

The Lawyer further stressed that a lot of Nigerians voted for the APC based on those documents because it was a passionate appeal that the President made to Nigerians.

“He itemized what he plans to achieve in all sectors of the economy and governance and they looked quite believable.

“Some people are holding them to some promises they made at the rallies about feeding all Nigerian children per day and having to bring dollar to some unrealistic levels, but i don’t hold that against them”, he said.

Speaking about the focus of the government, Mr Eke said “ if the document is denied, let’s judge them on their manifesto.

“Having voted them in for four years, there is a lesson  I want APC to learn from the PDP.

“When we, as a people, chose ‘Power to the People’ as a slogan in PDP, we did not realise the philosophical efficacy or potency of the word ‘Power to the People’.

“When we were busy planning on how to rule the country in perpetuity, the word Power to the People worked for us.

“The people simply picked up the power that belonged to them and we were in the street while they gave it to another people and the people are still there; they are the Nigerian electorate.

“Those are the people who voted us out and they are likely to vote them out again” , he maintained.

Mr Eke, however, stressed that “what the people saw before they voted the APC in, are not what they are seeing now”, adding that “the only thing we can say this government has engaged itself in, is fighting corruption, and the way they are going about it, is as though, they are part of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) department.

“We expect EFCC to do their work while President Buhari does some ground breaking ceremonies”, he stressed.

The Member of the PDP gave his opinion on the fight against terrorism by the government, he said the fight against terrorism by the government, is a promissory note for now.

“The rate of suicide attacks have suddenly increased, the number of fatality is unimaginable, on a scale, you will find out that there are more people being killed in this period”, he added.

The document, as alleged by oppositions, contains promises made by the President on things he would do in 100 days in office, and was said to be written by the APC.

But the APC, through the National Publicity Secretary, Lai Mohammed and the Senior Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu, denied writing such document.
