The Cross River State Governor, Ben Ayade, has promised to restore electricity supply to the surrounding rural communities in the Northern and Central Senatorial districts of the state which have for the past years lived in perpetual darkness.
Addressing a gathering at his country home in Obudu Local Government Area of the State, where he was to thank the people for their votes, Ayade reassured them that he would keep faith with all his electioneering promises before the end of his first administration.
Top on the agenda, according to the Governor, is the reconstruction of the Calabar-Ogoja, Ikom highway to a dual carriage road to meet the increasing demand on the road.
He maintained that, he should be held accountable if at the end of the tenure, he comes seeking a re-election, without giving the community any of the projects promised.
