gov seriake dicksonThe Governor of Bayelsa State, Seriake Dickson, has officially declared his interest to run for a second term in office in the governorship election that will hold on December 5.

Governor Dickson, on Friday, submitted his nomination form at the headquarters of the Peoples Democratic Party in Abuja, with men, women and youth of Bayelsa State singing, drumming and dancing to celebrate the number one citizen of the State.

Governor Dickson was described by leaders of the party in the state, as ‘a good product to sell’ to Bayelsans. They said he deserved a second term in office.

He has promised Bayelsans that his campaign during the electioneering process would be issue-based.

The Governor, who had been accorded a welcome fit worthy of a winner in a battle that has not yet been fought, handed over the form to the officials of the PDP at their national secretariat.

Governor Dickson, in company of most of the political and traditional leaders of Bayelsa State, then paid the Acting Chairman of the PDP, Prince Uche Secondus, a courtesy visit in his office, assuring him of the party’s victory in the coming election.

He said that the presence of the bigwigs at his submission of nomination form was an indication of victory for the PDP in the polls, giving the statics of elective offices presently occupied my members of the party.

In spite of the overwhelming support for the Governor, the Acting Chairman insisted that the party would conduct primaries in the state, while wishing the Governor a favourable outcome.

Some of the party’s leaders in Bayelsa that were present , were a former Governor, Diepreye Alamieyeseigha, former Deputy Governor Peremobowei Ebebi and a former Senator, now Pro-Chancellor of Federal University of Petroluem, Effurun, Senator Amange. They were optimistic that the PDP was a party to beat in Bayelsa State.
