The Majority Leader of the House of Representatives has pledged the Parliament’s commitment to ensuring adequate funding for HIV/AIDS control in Nigeria.
Honourable Femi Gbajabiamila gave the assurance during a meeting held on Friday at the National Assembly with a delegation of the United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS led by the Country Director, Dr Bilali Camara.
The UN official said Nigeria needed to strive to match foreign donations in the fight against HIV/AIDS.
He said that Nigeria’s HIV/AIDS prevalence had put the country on the scale of nations that needed to do more to contain the disease.
